The manual cars use a 10mm pump, the autos an 11mm. The injectors on the manuals have slightly larger orifices to make up for the smaller pump. A typical upgrade to manual cars is to put in an 11mm pump with the larger injectors, you’d be doing the opposite by putting the 10mm pump in the auto car. Tdi injection pump manual. Romania, I know had their crest on some, while China, had some with a P prefix on the serial number and were dated 1937 and again Romanian arms were dated 1938-39-40. These dated rifles were also issued to the Czech Army as some bare the Army acceptance mark which is an E (small Czech lion) and date. The scope bases are soldered to the top of the receiver. The front ring is numbered to the gun, otherwise stamped ’99’ on the mounts and rings. The left side of the receiver ring is marked ’E3 Rampant Dragon 38’ over the serial number and the left receiver wall is marked ’CESKOSLOVENSKA ZBROJOVKA,A.S, BRNO / VZ.24’.Romanian Vz 24 Serial Numbers OnlineNES MemberRating - 100%JoinedMay 14, 2006Messages3,679Likes947LocationNew HampshireRomanian Vz 24 Serial Numbers LookupI recently purchased VZ24 Mauser. It has the crest ground off which it appears to be Yugoslavian. The seller states this was done by the Russians???? I have made a short search and can not seem to find anything to support this statement.
I have another VZ24 with the Lions crest intact. The price for this new addition to my collection I could not resist. $200!!!!
Do any of you folks know if the Russians indeed ground off the Yugo crest or did the Serbs do it after the fall of Yugoslavia???
This rifle is indeed a Czech VZ24 not a Yugo 24/47, or M48, M48a etc. All other markings on the rifle indicate it as a VZ24 and made by the Czechs.Romanian Vz-24 Serial Numbers Hello,
Could anyone provide some information regarding a Romanian VZ 24 (ZB). I purchased one recently, but I am not entirely certain about its history. There is no year or crest on the receiver. The only marks are the serial number (UR21XXX), the CM mark (which I was told was placed on imports accepted by Romania), and the manufacturer’s marks: Zbrojovka Brno, A.S. V.Z.24. The claim made by the dealer was that the crest was scrubbed by the Romanians in 1947. That this happened makes sense, of course. The claim that this rifle was rearsenaled by the Russians does not. The mettal shows some wear, but it has clearly been reblued, and all parts electropencilled to match the receiver. The handguard seems original, but the stock looks new and appears to be made from a different wood. Intrestingly, the stock has a tiny cartouche, which resembles the emblem on the slovak flag (double cross atop three hills). Furthermore, I cannot identify the origin of the sling, which incidentally, does not seem to go with the VZ 24. My main question is, who rearsenalled this rifle? Was it really the Russians? If so, how would they have acquired it after 1947? How come the stock is new but not the handguard? I look forward to hearing input on the history of VZ 24’s. Thanks.
